Super Eagles Clinches Top Spot In Group A With Convincing Win Over Sao Tome

Super Eagles concluded their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign in style, securing a resounding 6-0 victory against Sao Tome and Principe on Sunday, Readership NG reports.

The Super Eagles had already secured their place in next year’s tournament, but they showed no signs of complacency, displaying their dominance right from the opening whistle.

Nigeria headed into halftime with a comfortable 2-0 lead, courtesy of goals from Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman.

Taiwo Awoniyi, the talented striker from Nottingham Forest, continued to impress in the second half by finding the back of the net. Osimhen then sealed his hat-trick with another impressive display, and Samuel Chukwueze added a late goal at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.

With this victory, the Eagles are set to finish at the summit of Group A, having amassed a total of 15 points in their qualifying campaign.
