Former Liverpool forward Luis Garcia has decisively named his pick between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Garcia revealed that he always considered Messi the greater player over Ronaldo in their long-standing rivalry.
When asked to choose between Messi and Ronaldo, Garcia told Sportskeeda: “For me, I mean, I know that Cristiano Ronaldo is an incredible player, but for me, it has always been the same player. It has always been Lionel Messi.”
Messi and Ronaldo have defined the beautiful game over the last two decades.
The duo have won 13 Ballon d’Or awards between them.
Luis Javier García Sanz (born 24 June 1978) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a winger.
He played professionally for Barcelona and Atlético Madrid in his homeland, amongst others – being brought up in the former’s youth ranks – appearing abroad for Liverpool, with whom he won the 2005 Champions League and the 2006 FA Cup. Over the course of eight seasons, he amassed La Liga totals of 150 games and 22 goals.
A Spain international for three years, García earned 18 caps and represented the nation at the 2006 World Cup.
