Chelsea FC Appoints Enzo Maresca As New Head Coach
2 min readChelsea Football Club has officially appointed Enzo Maresca as the new head coach of their men’s team.
The Italian manager, who has signed a five-year contract with an option for a one-year extension, will begin his tenure at Stamford Bridge immediately.
“Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Enzo Maresca as new head coach of the men’s team,” the club’s statement read.
He previously took the helm at Leicester City in June 2023, where he achieved remarkable success by leading the club to the English Football League (EFL) Championship title and securing promotion to the Premier League in his debut season.
Before his successful stint at Leicester City, Maresca built a solid foundation as an assistant coach at several prominent clubs, including Manchester City, Sevilla, West Ham, and Parma. His diverse coaching experience is expected to bring fresh insights and strategies to Chelsea.
Joining Maresca’s staff at Chelsea will be Willy Caballero, Danny Walker, Michele De Bernardin, Marcos Alvarez, Javi Molina, and Roberto Vitiello. Additionally, Ben Roberts has been appointed as the goalkeeper coach, and Bernardo Cueva will take on the role of set-piece coach.
