Aregbesola Leads Mass Mobilisation As ADC Launches Statewide Tour In Osun
The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, on Tuesday led the party’s national leadership to Ila/Ifedayo/Boluwaduro Federal Constituency of Osun State to inaugurate party officials and structures across the state’s nine federal constituencies. The visit marked the official commencement of the ADC’s statewide mobilisation ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
Aregbesola was received by thousands of party loyalists and supporters who trooped out to welcome the former Osun governor. Addressing the crowd, he said the tour was aimed at reawakening the consciousness of party members and strengthening grassroots mobilisation for what he described as a crucial rescue mission for Osun and Nigeria.
He accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of failing to provide responsible leadership, insisting that the ADC remained the most credible alternative for Nigerians seeking good governance.

“We are here to reawaken our people to the reality of the state of things in this country and to seek their unflinching support,” he said. “The policies of this administration have pushed many into poverty, hunger and hardship. Our party is committed to restoring responsible leadership and good governance.”
Aregbesola criticised the federal government’s handling of key sectors, particularly security, the economy and education, which he described as “the major yardsticks of measuring good governance.” He also faulted the focus on a coastal highway over the rehabilitation of federal roads, claiming that over 76 percent of the country’s 37,000 kilometres of federal roads were not motorable.
“This government has scored A1 in politics and F9 in governance,” he said. “ADC is ready to address these failures. When we were in Osun, we implemented life-changing policies—feeding over 50,000 children, empowering thousands of youths, and reducing hunger drastically. This is what we are poised to bring back.”

He urged party supporters to intensify mobilisation across communities in Ila Federal Constituency, noting that “ADC is the party that will bring governance closer to the grassroots.”
Other ADC leaders, including the Osun State Chairman, Dr. Charles Omidiji; Chairman of Omoluabi Progressives, Alhaji Azeez Adesiji; Senator Felix Ogunwale; Alhaji Moshood Adeoti; and Dr. Najeem Salaam, also addressed the gathering. They appealed for unity, dedication and sustained support as the party prepares for future elections.
They described the ADC as the only platform presenting credible individuals capable of raising the bar of governance for the benefit of the masses.
Similarly, the Chairman of the party’s Membership Registration, Revalidation and Mobilisation Committee, Hon. Kamil Akinlabi, urged members to participate actively in the statewide registration and revalidation exercise scheduled to begin today.

The Orangun of Ila, Oba AbdulWahab Kayode Bibire, who received the delegation in his palace, praised Aregbesola’s achievements during his administration between 2010 and 2018. Speaking through Chief Douglas Adeyinka, the monarch declared the readiness of Ila-Orangun to support the ADC.
“I am always happy to identify with Aregbesola because he represents responsible leadership,” the monarch said. “We are solidly behind ADC and are committed to supporting its vision for good governance.”
Dignitaries present at the event included former FERMA Chairman, Engr. Jide Adeniji; Senator Sadiq Yar’Adua, Secretary of the ADC National Membership Mobilisation Committee; Senator Adelere Oriolowo; and Alhaji Rasaq Salinsile.
The ADC federal constituency tour is scheduled to continue on Thursday, November 20, with a stop at Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency.
