The Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, has felicitated teachers across the local government on the occasion of the 2026 World Teachers’ Day, describing their contributions to society as invaluable.
Odulate, in a statement marking the annual celebration, said teachers do more than impart knowledge, stressing that they play a critical role in shaping minds, building character and inspiring the dreams that eventually become reality.
He commended teachers for their dedication and commitment to preparing children and young people for the future, noting that their influence extends far beyond the classroom.
According to him, the quality of individuals and leaders produced by society is largely influenced by the foundation laid by teachers.
“As a Local Government, we recognise the important role teachers play in building a knowledgeable, responsible and productive society,” Odulate said.
The council chairman assured that the local government would continue to support efforts aimed at promoting quality education and improving learning environments across communities in Sagamu.
He expressed appreciation to teachers for their sacrifices and contributions to the development of the younger generation, urging them to remain committed to their noble profession.
“To all our teachers in Sagamu Local Government, thank you for the lives you continue to shape and the future you help to build,” he said.
Odulate wished teachers across Sagamu Local Government a happy World Teachers’ Day celebration.
