Sunday Igboho Hails IBD Dende’s Unwavering Support In Crisis
Prominent Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Igboho, has publicly lauded renowned businessman and philanthropist Ibrahim Egungbohun, popularly known as IBD Dende, for his extraordinary generosity and steadfast support during a challenging period of his life.
Speaking about his release from detention in the Benin Republic, Igboho revealed that Dende immediately reached out to check on his welfare and next destination. When Igboho explained that he planned to travel to Germany and that the cost of flight tickets for him and his wife amounted to ₦6 million, Dende reportedly requested his bank details.
In an extraordinary show of goodwill, Dende transferred ₦20 million, well above the stated travel expenses, assuring that the extra funds could cover other pressing needs.
Upon Igboho’s return to Nigeria, he recalled that despite ongoing financial restrictions, Dende was the first person he met. The businessman is said to have provided an additional ₦10 million to help host visitors and manage immediate responsibilities, particularly as Igboho’s bank account remained frozen.
The activist also expressed deep gratitude to former Oyo State Governor Rasheed Ladoja, whom he credited for resolving issues between him and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Describing Dende as a man of rare loyalty and compassion, Igboho declared that anyone who harbours ill feelings toward the businessman “is under a curse,” underscoring the depth of his appreciation.
The development has since sparked discussions across social and political circles, further cementing IBD Dende’s reputation as a philanthropist and influential figure who stands by his associates in times of need.
