Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday visited the All Progressives Congress (APC) Secretariat at Acme Road, Ogba, to assess preparations ahead of the party’s primary elections for the 2025 local government polls.

Readership NG gathered that the party’s chairmanship primaries across the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) are scheduled to hold on Saturday at the APC Secretariat.

The councillorship primaries will take place simultaneously at the ward level across the state.

During the visit, Governor Sanwo-Olu met with party leaders and members to reaffirm his commitment to a transparent, peaceful, and credible electoral process, in line with the guidelines of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC).

He said, “As we gear up for the APC Local Government primaries in Lagos, I visited our party’s secretariat at Acme, Ogba. It was important for me to connect with our leaders and members directly, to reaffirm our shared commitment to a process that is peaceful, transparent, and fully aligned with LASIEC guidelines.

“Our party has a strong legacy of progress and responsible leadership, and I have no doubt that we are poised for another resounding victory in the upcoming council elections.

“I’m also deeply appreciative of the work done so far by the APC Electoral Committee and our party executives in preparing for this exercise. Together, we can uphold the trust our people have placed in us and continue to lead with purpose and integrity.”

Present at the meeting were the Lagos APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi; Chairman of the APC Electoral Committee, Babatunde Ogala, SAN; and several top party chieftains.
