IFO – Prince Gideon Adeyemi, the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) candidate for the Ifo Local Government Area chairmanship, has dismissed rumors claiming he has withdrawn from the race in favor of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Alhaji Idris Olalekan Kusimo, popularly known as “Kush.”

In a statement released on Wednesday, Adeyemi described the reports as false and propaganda from APC supporters, aimed at misleading voters and demoralizing his supporters ahead of the upcoming local government election.

Adeyemi reiterated his commitment to the NNPP and his resolve to bring development and effective representation to the people of Ifo. “Let it be known that this information is entirely false and is merely propaganda crafted by elements within the APC and supporters of Alhaji Kusimo to sway public opinion,” he stated. “I am fully committed to my candidacy under the NNPP.”

Emphasizing his vision for change, Adeyemi underscored the importance of addressing the long-standing issues of underdevelopment in Ifo Local Government. “We entered this race with a clear vision and firm resolve to bring meaningful change to our communities, and we will not be deterred by attempts to distract or dishearten us,” he added.

Adeyemi called on residents of Ifo to disregard the rumors and show their support by voting en masse for the NNPP on November 16. He urged voters to choose the NNPP as the party that embodies transparency, progress, and the promise of a better future for the local government.

“Together, we can overcome the forces that seek to keep Ifo stagnant. Together, we can bring about the liberation and development our local government deserves,” Adeyemi concluded.

The chairmanship election, scheduled for November 16, has generated significant interest across Ifo Local Government Area as residents prepare to cast their votes.
