Lagos Lawmaker Shares N10m, Food Items As Constituents Back Third Term Bid
A Lagos State lawmaker, Hon. Adewale Temitope Adedeji, on Monday secured the endorsement of traditional rulers, chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and residents of Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency I for another term in office.
The endorsement came during an empowerment programme for 500 widows held at his constituency office in Lagos, where food items and cash worth ₦10 million were distributed.
Constituents described the event as the first time they had witnessed such genuine representation from their lawmaker, noting that Hon. Adewale’s efforts have made life easier for many.

Speaking at the event, Deacon Banjo Omole, APC Chairman in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, lauded the party’s choice of Adewale as its candidate, describing him as a people-centered representative.
“APC does not make mistakes with its choice of candidates. Since we presented Temitope, he has met our expectations. Some would have distanced themselves from their people, but not Temitope. He has consistently touched lives — from students to men and women across our wards,” Omole said, urging residents to get their voter cards ready ahead of the 2027 elections.
The Chairman of the Community Development Committee (CDC), Pastor Samuel Opajobi, praised the lawmaker’s performance, describing him as an “achiever and lover of mankind.”

Endorsing Adewale on behalf of the residents, Opajobi added:
“We know how much he has impacted the people of this constituency. His works speak for him.”
Also speaking, the Leader of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Council, Hon. Adebo Samuel Kayode, affirmed the community’s satisfaction with Adewale’s representation.
“We are happy today because we have not regretted having Temitope Adedeji as our lawmaker. The results of his service are visible, and we are united in our call for his third term. We pray for continued strength and good health for him ahead of 2027,” Kayode said.

The Oba-elect of Ogundimu Kingdom, Oba Matthew Ogundimu, commended the lawmaker’s impact on the lives of the people.
“His efforts have yielded great results, and we can all see that. Let us ignore desperate politicians who may try to bring up candidates against him,” the monarch said.
In his remarks, Hon. Adewale Temitope Adedeji thanked his constituents for their support, stating that his vision is to make Ifako-Ijaiye the most educated and happiest local government area in Nigeria.
“We have promised to continue giving back to the people who voted for us. Everything we are doing is inspired by the example of our leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has continued working to make Nigeria one of the strongest economies in the world,” he said.

He further announced free health insurance registration for residents without coverage or with expired plans, and disclosed that his free adult literacy classes, set to begin soon, have already attracted over 100 applicants.
Beneficiaries of the empowerment programme also expressed gratitude.
Mrs. Abosede Duduyemi recalled that during a previous programme, beneficiaries received ₦10,000 each, noting that this time, the cash gift had doubled to ₦20,000, alongside more food items.
Mrs. Grace Akingbehin, another widow, praised the lawmaker’s performance, saying:
“I have lived in Iju for over 40 years and have been in politics for more than 30 years, but Hon. Adewale has done better than anyone before him.”
