Abiodun Congratulates Soludo On Re-election As Anambra Governor
Ogun State Governor and Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has congratulated the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, on his re-election.
Soludo, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), emerged victorious in the Anambra State governorship election held on Saturday. According to the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), he secured 422,664 out of 584,054 valid votes cast, defeating his closest challenger, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 99,445 votes. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 8,208 and 1,401 votes respectively.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, Governor Abiodun said the outcome of the poll clearly reflected the people’s confidence in Soludo’s leadership.
He said: “With the results of Saturday’s election, the people of Anambra State spoke in clear, unmistakable terms, affirming their belief in the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
“I heartily congratulate my brother and Vice Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, and urge him to continue inspiring the people of Anambra State with life-changing policies and projects.
“By uniting various political tendencies in the state, he will further consolidate the dividends of democracy under his leadership in Anambra State.”
Abiodun also commended Soludo for his collaborative disposition towards the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging him to continue upholding the values of democracy and good governance in the South East and Nigeria as a whole.
