BREAKING! Ladi Adebutu Detained By DSS, PDP Urges Calm
1 min readHon. Oladipupo Adebutu, a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, has been detained by the Department of State Services (DSS) under charges that remain undisclosed.
In a statement released by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Arc. Kayode Adebayo, members of the PDP and the general public were informed of Adebutu’s detention, urging supporters to remain calm during this period.
“Our principal has called for calm and directed all members, supporters, and well-wishers to remain assured that this time shall pass. It is one of the prices for our democracy,” the statement read.
As of 10 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2024, efforts to secure Adebutu’s release—whether on personal recognition or through a surety—had yet to yield results. His legal team is expected to escalate efforts on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
The PDP assured its supporters that the party is closely monitoring the situation and will continue to provide updates. In the meantime, they appealed for peace and patience while legal avenues are explored to resolve the matter.
