1 min readYouths under the aegis of Struggle For Good Governance in Katsina State on Thursday took to the streets in the state to protest the lingering economic hardship, insecurity, and poor governance in the country.
The youths, led by Habibu Ruma, in a peaceful protest, tagged: “We Are hungry and we need security to be restored”, were seen carrying flag cards with various inscriptions such as ‘End banditry now,’ ‘Economic hardship is high,’ ‘Reduce the high cost of governance,’ ‘Stop the killings in the north,’ ‘Our families are disintegrated,’ ‘Agriculture is not possible,’ ‘Food is costly’ among others.
Although no official from the state government received them in an attempt to present their letter of demands to the president, the group outlined three demands they want the Federal Government to implement.
These include: ending insecurity, and hardship and restoring fuel subsidy.
The protest was kick-started from the Kofar Sauri T- Junction and terminated at the New Katsina Government House.
