Veteran Nigerian Actor Olofa Ina Dies At 73

A veteran Yoruba actor, Mr Adedeji Aderemi, popularly known as Baba Olofa Ina or Olofa Ina, has died at 73 years old.

A renowned movie star, Mr Saidi Balogun, announced the death of the legend in the Nigerian film industry on Thursday night.

The deceased, born on May 15, 1950, into the family of the late AbdulSalam Aderemi and the late Madam Aisha Aderemi of the Jagun-Olukosi compound in Ede, Osun State, acted in several films before his death. He is from Ede in Osun State, lived in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital for many years.

He was one of the most respected thespians in Nollywood and was very popular and loved by his colleagues, associates, and fans.

Olofaina featured in various epic Yoruba movies such as Ogbori Elemoso, Ayanmo, Bashorun Gaa, Afonja.

Others are; Lagbondoko and Balogun Ibikunle Produced by Biodun Eleni- Latinwo amongst others.

“Goodnight Legend Chief Adedeji Aderemi, alias Olofa Ina,” Mr Saidi Balogun wrote while announcing his death on social media today.

The late Olofa Ina was one of the prominent members of the Association of Nigerian Threatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP).
