Tinubu Swears In Taiwo Oyedele As Minister Of State For Finance
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday officially swore in Taiwo Oyedele as the new Minister of State for Finance.
The brief swearing-in ceremony took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Oyedele replaces Doris Uzoka-Anite, who has been redeployed to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning as Minister of State, marking her third ministerial portfolio in the current administration.
The Nigerian Senate had earlier confirmed Oyedele’s appointment on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, barely 24 hours after the request for his screening was transmitted by the President.
Before his appointment, Oyedele served as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, where he spearheaded major initiatives aimed at restructuring Nigeria’s tax system and improving fiscal efficiency.
His appointment is expected to strengthen the government’s ongoing fiscal and tax reform agenda.
