The PBAT Force Disowns Nairaland Report On Lagos Council Appointments
The PBAT Force, a political support group within the All Progressives Congress APC, has issued a disclaimer distancing itself from a recent online publication alleging its involvement in the controversy surrounding delays in the appointment of cabinet members across Lagos State’s 57 local councils.
In a rejoinder signed by its Director of Public Relations, Hon. Dr. Tola Adebiyi, the group described the report published on the online forum Nairaland and titled “Revealed: How Ojelabi Held Lagos Council Appointments Process to Ransom” as misleading and falsely attributed.
According to the statement, The PBAT Force denied any knowledge of, affiliation with, or sponsorship of the publication, stressing that it neither authored nor endorsed the narrative presented in the report.
The group stated that it is a structured and disciplined political support organisation operating within the ideals of the APC and in alignment with the leadership philosophy of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. It rejected any association with anonymous publications, blackmail journalism, or unverified allegations against party leaders or institutions.
While acknowledging that issues relating to the reimbursement of party aspirants have been discussed within party structures, The PBAT Force maintained that it has consistently adopted lawful, consultative, and internal party mechanisms to express concerns, rather than engaging in media speculation.
The organisation also refuted claims suggesting that it had threatened to resist or obstruct the constitution of local government council cabinets, describing such assertions as false, misleading, and deliberately mischievous.
The PBAT Force condemned attempts to associate its name with a publication it described as relying on anonymous sources and speculative claims, warning that such reports are capable of creating unnecessary tension within the party and misleading the public.
The group urged party members, the media, and the general public to disregard any publication linking it to the allegations and to always seek clarification from recognised representatives before attributing statements or actions to any organisation.
Reaffirming its position, The PBAT Force restated its loyalty to the All Progressives Congress, its unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, and its commitment to constructive engagement aimed at strengthening the party and Nigeria’s democratic institutions.
