Senator Yayi Thanks Tinubu, Abiodun, APC Leaders After Ogun Governorship Endorsement

Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola has expressed profound appreciation to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Dapo Abiodun, and other key leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his adoption as the party’s consensus candidate for the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.

Adeola, who represents Ogun West Senatorial District and chairs the Senate Committee on Appropriations, was endorsed at a strategic APC caucus meeting held at the party secretariat in Abeokuta. The decision, announced by Governor Abiodun, received unanimous backing from major stakeholders and aspirants within the party.

In a statement released shortly after his emergence, the senator described the development as a triumph of unity, equity, and collective resolve within the APC. He paid special tribute to President Tinubu and the First Lady, , for what he described as their enduring support and commitment to fairness.

Adeola noted that the consensus reflects a historic shift toward Ogun West Senatorial District, which has yet to produce a governor since the state’s creation over five decades ago.

“I must specially thank President Tinubu for his mentorship, guidance and support throughout my political journey,” he said, adding that the First Lady has also consistently supported his aspirations.

The lawmaker also commended Governor Abiodun and the First Lady, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, for their confidence in his leadership and sustained backing over the years.

He further acknowledged the pivotal role played by elder statesman and former governor, , whom he credited for providing guidance and strategic direction at critical moments.

Adeola extended gratitude to former governors and , noting that their support helped secure broad consensus across party ranks.

He also praised the Ogun APC executive led by Chief Yemisi Sanusi for ensuring a smooth, transparent, and inclusive process, while commending fellow aspirants—including Hon. Gboyega Isiaka and Hon. Abiodun Akinlade—for placing party unity above personal ambition.

“There are no winners or losers. The APC family has emerged stronger and more united,” Adeola stated.

Calling for unity ahead of the 2027 elections, the senator urged party members, support groups, and stakeholders across the state to align behind a shared vision of progress. He emphasized the need for strengthened grassroots mobilization and collective effort to secure victory for the APC at all levels.

Adeola also appealed to the people of Ogun State, both at home and in the diaspora, to embrace a renewed sense of hope, expressing confidence in the state’s prospects for inclusive growth and sustainable development.

He pledged that, if elected, his administration would prioritize people-centered policies, economic expansion, and improved social welfare, while building on the achievements of previous governments.

“In unity lies our strength. Together, we will build and together, we will win,” he affirmed.
