See States Excluded From FG’s N45bn COVID-19 Reimbursement
Minister of State for Budget and National Planning and the Chairman of the Federal Cares Steering Committee, Prince Clem Agba, has disclosed that seven states were disqualified from benefiting from the Federal Government’s N45.3 billion Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Programme (NG-Cares), Readership News reports.
The seven states are Ogun, Benue, Ebonyi, Kogi, Taraba, Enugu, and Imo following their failure to meet up with the conditions for getting the reimbursement.
The minister announced in Abuja saying, only 29 States and the Federal Capital Territory, were able to meet the conditions for getting the reimbursement.
The N45.3 billion COVID-19 Stimulus package was released to State Governments to mitigate their expenses at the height of the pandemic.
“The seven States did not get reimbursement from the Federal Government because they could not repay the advance.
“They did not earn any results in the first round so they did not qualify for any reimbursement.”
