Sagamu LG Suspends Construction At Temidire Alaba Market Over Contract Breaches
Sagamu Local Government has ordered the immediate suspension of all construction activities at the Temidire Alaba Market project in Ogijo over alleged breaches of the terms and conditions governing the project.
The market project, which is being executed by Eliezer Investment Limited, was halted following a comprehensive review by the Local Government that uncovered several actions deemed inconsistent with the approved project framework.
According to the Local Government, the developer was found to have deviated from the agreed operational model, failed to comply with required regulatory procedures, and did not adhere to the stipulated approval and allocation processes as outlined in the contractual agreement.
The council also disclosed that it received credible information suggesting that the project is being financed in a manner contrary to earlier assurances given by the developer regarding its financial readiness to deliver the project in full.
In view of these findings, the Local Government said the suspension became necessary to safeguard public interest and protect the integrity of the project. It directed that all construction activities at the site must remain on hold until all outstanding issues are addressed and full compliance with the terms of the agreement is restored.
Sagamu Local Government reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, due process, and the orderly development of markets and public infrastructure within the Local Government Area, assuring residents that further updates would be communicated as appropriate.
