Sagamu Chairman Odulate Lauds Abiodun On Commissioning Of Aiyepe Road

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Wednesday commissioned the newly reconstructed Aiyepe Road in Sagamu Local Government Area, ending nearly three decades of neglect of the strategic route.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony held on January 22, 2026, the Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, praised the governor for reconstructing the road, describing it as a critical link between Sagamu and Ayepe in Odogbolu Local Government Area.

Odulate said the completion of the road has brought immense relief to residents and renewed hope to communities that depend on the corridor for economic and social activities, noting that the project was executed by the Ogun State Government under Governor Abiodun’s administration.

The council chairman further commended the governor for the reconstruction of other major roads within Sagamu Local Government, including Oba Erinwole Road, Hospital Road in Ogijo, Ajegunle Road, Surulere Road, and Major Thompson Road, describing them as visible evidence of the administration’s commitment to grassroots development in line with the ISEYA agenda.

He disclosed that the Sagamu Local Government, under his leadership, has complemented the state government’s efforts by constructing several internal roads such as Cinema Road, Sawmill Road, Sode Road, and Awosanya Road—a five-kilometre stretch paved with heavy interlocking stones, described as the first of its kind in the area.

Odulate acknowledged that criticism is part of democratic governance but stressed the need to differentiate between constructive criticism and personal attacks, insisting that Governor Abiodun’s administration has significantly transformed Ogun State beyond the condition it met it.

He described the Abiodun-led government as a resounding success and revealed that the nine council chairmen of Ogun East, alongside stakeholders and residents of the zone, have called on the governor to represent Ogun East in the Senate to ensure continuity of development.

“Ogun East needs you,” Odulate declared.

The event was attended by traditional rulers, political leaders, community stakeholders, and residents, who applauded the governor’s infrastructural strides and urged sustained development across the state.
