Peter Obi, Governor Otti Convene Labour Party NEC Meeting

Labour Party leaders, Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate, and Abia State Governor Alex Otti, have jointly called for a meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).
The gathering is scheduled to take place in Abuja on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
A notification released by the two leaders indicated that the NEC session will be held alongside a town hall meeting, engaging key stakeholders and various party organs, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel.
The notice, signed by Ibrahim Umar, spokesperson for the Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR), listed expected attendees, including the 2023 vice presidential candidate, current and former senators, as well as candidates who contested for Senate and House of Representatives positions under the Labour Party banner in 2023.
Also invited are members of the National Caretaker Committee, former gubernatorial candidates still affiliated with the party, representatives from the NLC/TUC Political Commission, and members of the previous National Working Committee.
This development follows the recent Supreme Court decision that effectively dissolved the Julius Abure-led National Working Committee.
