PDP Insist NEMA Report Shows Gov Abiodun Govt Does Not Value Ogun People’s Lives

In a statement by the Ogun PDP publicity secretary, Asiwaju Bankole Akinloye, the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has confirmed the position of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogun State, that under the watch of Governor Dapo Abiodun, Ogun State has returned to the inglorious hobbesian’s State of nature where life was brutish, nasty and short.

In the said report, NEMA confirmed that no fewer than 336 families and about 300 buildings were affected by wind and rainstorms that wreaked untold havoc in Arepo and other communities around Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the state since the beginning of this year’s rainy season.

The PDP claimed that their independent findings also confirmed that several landlords and other categories of residents, business premises owners and proprietors along Lagos-Ibadan expressway have been thrown into monumental setbacks after losing their properties and legitimate means of livelihoods, simply because they operate under a government that is not proactive enough to see to their safety and wellbeing.

He said, “As a matter of fact, this is not the first time that the ruling APC government is demonstrating crass incompetence and flagrant neglect of the people who it swore to protect. NEMA’s report only goes to prove that there is absolutely nothing for citizens and residents of Ogun to look up to in Dapo Abiodun continuous stay in government.

“It is of fundamental importance to inform the general public that all the recent public shows and bogus proclamation of attending to public needs are mere performative showcase as Dapo Abiodun’s only attention, these days, is solely on how to cover up all identified electoral malpractice perpetrated by his party in cahoots with some INEC officials in the March 18 election.

“This is the only reason why innocent residents of Obafemi Owode local government and other areas are being callously neglected to their fate to suffer avoidable pains.”

The PDP enjoins residents of Ogun State to be more conscious of their environment, especially during working hours and pay close attention to children commuting to and fro their schools or other destinations. The opposition reaffirms their commitment as a party to ensure that Ogun becomes proactive enough to cater for foreseen and unforeseen exigencies that may beset Ogun people as soon as they come to power.
