Ondo Police Launch 2026 National Police Day With Sanitation, Free Medical Outreach

The Ondo State Police Command has commenced activities for the 2026 National Police Day with community-focused initiatives, including environmental sanitation and a free medical outreach across the state.

The flag-off ceremony, held on Monday, March 30, 2026, aligns with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, , to mark the annual celebration themed “Community Partnership: Building Trust.”

Leading the exercise, the Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, , said the initiative underscores the Command’s commitment to strengthening police-community relations through impactful and people-oriented programmes.

As part of the activities, officers and personnel of the Command carried out sanitation exercises at major public locations, including Arakale Market and Nepa Junction, aimed at promoting a cleaner and healthier environment.

The Command also organised a free medical outreach, providing residents with access to basic healthcare services such as medical consultations, treatments, and professional health advice. The initiative attracted significant participation from members of the public, many of whom benefitted from the services.

Speaking at the event, Lawal noted that the National Police Day celebration serves as a platform to deepen collaboration between the Police and the communities they serve, while also highlighting the humanitarian aspect of policing.

He reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to building public trust, encouraging community engagement, and improving service delivery through citizen-focused initiatives.

Also present at the event was the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 17, , who urged residents to take advantage of the outreach programmes and continue to support the Police with credible information.

The Command further called on members of the public to actively participate in activities that promote peace, safety, and mutual trust within the state.

The week-long celebration will culminate in a grand finale scheduled for April 7, 2026.
