Ondo Police Conduct Show Of Force To Boost State Security
The Ondo State Police Command has carried out a statewide show of force as part of efforts to strengthen security and deter criminal activities across the state.
The operation, which took place across all Area Commands, was in line with directives from the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on the need to reinforce a proactive and robust security architecture nationwide.
Under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police in the state, Adebowale Lawal, the Command mobilised personnel and operational assets in a coordinated exercise involving Area Commands in Akure (Urban), Ondo, and Okitipupa, alongside other security agencies.
During the exercise, security operatives conducted patrols along major highways, urban centres, and identified flashpoints, with a visible presence aimed at reassuring residents and discouraging criminal elements.
The Command stated that the show of force was designed to enhance police visibility, boost public confidence, and ensure safety during the festive period and beyond.
It reiterated its commitment to collaborating with relevant stakeholders to maintain peace, stability, and the protection of lives and property across the state.
Residents were also encouraged to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information that could aid crime prevention.
