Ogun LG Supervisors, SAs Laud Gov Abiodun, Call For Inclusion In Welfare Package
The Conference of Local Government Supervisors and Special Advisers in Ogun State has reaffirmed its support for Governor Dapo Abiodun, CON, commending his leadership style, grassroots development efforts, and commitment to true local government autonomy.
In a communique issued at the end of its August meeting, attended by representatives from all 20 local government areas, the body described the governor as “a pathfinder whose courage, wisdom, and consistency have transformed Ogun into a reference point for good governance.”

The conference praised the administration’s infrastructural projects at the grassroots level, noting their significant impact on the state’s economic growth. Members lauded Governor Abiodun’s decision to allow local councils to operate independently, in compliance with the Supreme Court’s directive on local government autonomy, and described Ogun as one of the few states to uphold this principle.

The communique also acknowledged the governor’s recent welfare packages for vice chairmen, secretaries, and 236 councillors across the state. It urged him to extend similar benefits to supervisors and special advisers, pledging that such a gesture would further strengthen their commitment to service delivery at the local level.
While pledging unwavering loyalty to the administration’s “Igbega Ipinle Ogun, Ajose Wa Ni” (Building Our Future Together) agenda, the conference called on stakeholders to work closely with the state government to achieve its developmental goals.

The Supervisors and Special Advisers unanimously passed a vote of confidence on Governor Abiodun for “transforming local government administration into a place of pride in grassroots governance.”
The communique concluded with a rallying call to residents of Remo Federal Constituency to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Hon. Elegbeji Adesola, in the forthcoming by-election on Saturday, August 16.
