Ogun Govt Constitutes Administrative Body For Ijebu Ode Transition
The Ogun State Government has announced the constitution of an administrative body to oversee the management of administrative and traditional affairs in Ijebu Ode during the transition period preceding the installation of a new Awujale.
According to a statement signed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, the move aligns with the historical and traditional governance structure of Ijebu Ode.
The newly formed body will superintend over various responsibilities until a new monarch is installed. The members of the committee are:
Chief Folorunso Sunny Kuku (Ilamuren) – Chairman
Chief Oluwaranti Lekan Osifeso (Madassa) – Secretary
Chief Stephen Bakare Oluwalogbon (Ilamuren) – Member
Chief Bisola Oluneye Okuboyejo (Ilamuren) – Member
Chief Funmilola Okunowo (Ilamuren) – Member
Prof. Jide Ajayi (Ilamuren) – Member
Chief Tunde Odulaja (Pampa) – Member
Chief Abimbola Okenla (Pampa) – Member
Chief Agboola Alausa (Pampa) – Member
Chief (Mrs.) Adebisi Oshibogun (Pampa) – Member
Chief Adebisi Adaran (Gbeden) (Ogbogeni Odi) – Member
Governor Dapo Abiodun, CON, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to ensuring stability, continuity, and respect for the cherished traditions of Ijebu Ode during the transition.
The statement further called on all sons and daughters of Ijebuland, both at home and abroad, to support the administrative body, noting that cooperation from all stakeholders is vital to maintaining peace, harmony, and unity.
Residents were also urged to remain law-abiding and peaceful, as the government remains committed to transparency, inclusiveness, and the preservation of cultural heritage throughout the process.
