Ogun: Abiodun Approves Career Advancement For Graduate Primary School Teachers
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has approved the career advancement of Graduate Primary School Teachers (Tutor Cadre), elevating them from Grade Level 16 to Grade Level 17.
The approval was disclosed in a statement signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, who said the decision was aimed at addressing long-standing stagnation at the peak of the cadre and boosting teachers’ morale for improved service delivery in the state’s primary education system.
Mr. Onasanya explained that the governor also approved a consolidated salary structure for Head-Teacher General, a move that effectively upgrades their status and further strengthens the welfare of education professionals in the state.
According to him, the policy decision followed a comprehensive review of existing career progression frameworks and is designed to enhance learning outcomes across public primary schools.
He added that the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has been directed to commence immediate implementation of the policy.
The Head of Service noted that the development aligns with the ISEYA pillar of the Abiodun administration, reaffirming Ogun State’s ambition to remain Nigeria’s education hub.
Mr. Onasanya reiterated that the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration remains committed to progressive policies that promote educational development and urged teachers across the state to sustain their dedication to efficient and quality service delivery.
The approval, he said, reflects the government’s resolve to support its workforce while strengthening the foundation of basic education in Ogun State.
