Odulate Marks First Anniversary With Bold Infrastructure Strides, Promises More Development

The Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, has reflected on his first year in office, describing the period as one of foundational development and structural reforms designed to outlive the current administration.

In a statement marking one year since his return to office, Odulate expressed gratitude for the progress recorded, noting that the administration has focused on building long-term structures and improving public facilities across the local government.

A major highlight of the year, he said, is the newly constructed IT Centre built in memory of the late Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga (IJAYA), whose legacy continues to inspire governance in Sagamu. The centre is currently being equipped and is expected to open soon to provide technology-driven opportunities for young people.

Odulate also cited the full renovation and remodelling of the Legislative Building, along with the reconstruction of Sode Road and other internal roads, describing them as “promises kept” and part of the administration’s “Legacy Projects.” He added that upgrades to workspaces, administrative facilities, and infrastructure were all executed to improve the daily experience of residents.

The chairman acknowledged the support of his Vice Chairman, Comrade Isiaka Salami, members of the executive cabinet, and the 10th Legislative Council led by Hon. Emmanuel Babalola. He also commended local government administrators, staff, party leaders, elders, stakeholders, and party members for their cooperation and encouragement.

Odulate paid special tribute to his media team and partners for amplifying the administration’s achievements, while also appreciating his family for their resilience and support throughout the year.

The chairman reserved profound appreciation for the Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, describing him as a guiding force whose leadership has shaped many of the accomplishments celebrated in Sagamu. He further extended thanks to traditional rulers in the local government, with particular mention of His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, CFR, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, for his consistent counsel.

Looking ahead, Odulate assured the people of Sagamu that the achievements of the past year represent only a fraction of what his administration intends to deliver before the end of its tenure.

“We will continue to bring the dividends of governance to our people and ensure they feel the presence of government in their homes, communities, and daily lives,” he said.

He reaffirmed commitment to ongoing Legacy Projects, emphasizing that the administration is “just getting started.”
