NPF Bust Kidnappers’ Hideout, Arrest Six Suspects In Ikara

The Kaduna State Police Command has recorded another major breakthrough in the fight against kidnapping, arresting six suspected kidnappers and dismantling a suspected criminal hideout in Ikara Local Government Area of the state.
The breakthrough, which underscores the renewed operational drive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to take the battle directly to criminal elements and deny them safe havens, followed credible intelligence from a kidnap victim who escaped from captivity, as well as timely information from members of the public.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the victim reported his abduction to the police on Tuesday and identified a residential building belonging to one Ja’e Samalu, 65, of Dogon Pako Village, Ikara, as the location where he had been held captive.
Acting swiftly on the information, operatives of the Ikara Divisional Police Headquarters, working in collaboration with members of the local vigilante service, moved in and raided the suspected hideout.
The operation resulted in the arrest of six suspects, aged between 20 and 65 years, who are currently in police custody as investigators work to determine their individual roles and establish the wider network behind the criminal operation.
The Command said efforts are ongoing to track down and apprehend other members of the suspected kidnapping syndicate.
The Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Command, CP Muhammad Rabiu, commended the operatives for their swift and professional response, while also appreciating members of the public whose timely information contributed to the success of the operation.
CP Rabiu urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious persons, movements and activities to the nearest police formation, stressing that community intelligence remains a critical weapon in the fight against kidnapping and other violent crimes.
The Commissioner further warned residents to be cautious of criminal elements who may convert residential buildings into hideouts or holding facilities for kidnapped victims.
The Kaduna breakthrough is yet another indication of the IGP Disu-led policing strategy, which places strong emphasis on intelligence-led operations, community partnership and sustained pressure on criminal networks.
With the Police Command continuing to hunt down other fleeing members of the syndicate, the message to kidnappers and their collaborators is clear: there will be no safe haven for criminals in Kaduna State.
