NOA Visits Sagamu LG, Seeks Stakeholders’ Support For Peaceful Elections
The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has commenced consultations with key stakeholders in Ogun State ahead of the forthcoming general elections, with a call for collective action towards ensuring a peaceful, free, fair and credible electoral process.
The agency’s delegation, led by the Ogun State Coordinator, Alhaja Tiamiyu Abolanle Aishat, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, on Tuesday as part of its voter sensitisation and stakeholder engagement activities.
Speaking during the visit, Alhaja Aishat said the engagement was designed to assess the level of preparedness within the local government area, strengthen collaboration among stakeholders, and deepen public awareness on the importance of peaceful participation in the electoral process.
According to her, the agency remains committed to promoting civic responsibility and democratic values through continuous voter education and sensitisation programmes.
Representing the Executive Chairman at the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the council, Comrade Alhaji Isiaka Salami, assured the delegation of the local government’s readiness to work with relevant institutions to ensure a successful electoral exercise.
Salami expressed confidence in the preparedness of the local government administration, security agencies and residents of Sagamu to maintain peace and order before, during and after the elections.
He noted that sustained collaboration among government institutions, community leaders and residents would be crucial to safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process.
The meeting ended with both parties reaffirming their commitment to advancing voter education, strengthening democratic ideals and fostering a peaceful electoral environment across Sagamu Local Government Area.
