Opportunities For Nigerian Mining Professionals To Study In Australia At No Cost
Nigerian professionals in the field of solid minerals are set to embark on educational journeys to Australia, thanks to a landmark agreement facilitated by Nigeria’s Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake, during his visit to Perth, Australia, on a momentous Wednesday.
During a courtesy meeting with Hon. Bill Johnston, Western Australia’s Minister for Mines and Petroleum, Energy, Corrective Services, and Industrial Relations, Alake expressed his appreciation for the significant strides made by the Australian government in mineral development.
Leading a Nigerian delegation to the 21st Africa Down Under Mining Conference held in Perth, Alake highlighted Australia’s wealth of knowledge and expertise in nurturing a modern mining industry. He emphasized that Nigerians stand to gain invaluable insights through training, study programs, and the exchange of mineral experts as part of Nigeria’s ongoing efforts to revolutionize its mineral sector.
Alake further revealed that the Nigerian government had launched a comprehensive roadmap aimed at attracting foreign direct investment. This strategy includes substantial investments in mineral data collection, assessing the quantity of mineral deposits, establishing a solid minerals corporation, and forging strategic joint ventures with global mining conglomerates. These measures are intended to enhance Nigeria’s competitiveness in the global mineral market.
