The Lagos State University has announced the commencement of applications for the 2026/2027 student loan scheme administered by the Nigerian Education Loan Fund.

The university disclosed this in a statement shared on its official X account on Sunday, urging eligible students to take advantage of the Federal Government’s education financing intervention.

According to the institution, the application portal opened on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, and will remain accessible until Thursday, December 31, 2026.

LASU said applicants must be duly registered students of the university and possess valid Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board registration numbers, National Identification Numbers and Bank Verification Numbers.

The university further advised students to ensure that their matriculation numbers, departments and other institutional records have been correctly uploaded and updated on the LASU portal before submitting their applications.

It also stressed the need for applicants to verify their JAMB details before proceeding with the loan application, warning that discrepancies or mismatched information could result in delays or disqualification.

LASU advised students experiencing difficulties with the verification or updating of their records to visit the Directorate of ICT or Special Interventions for assistance. The university urged all eligible students to complete their applications before the December 31 deadline.
