LASTMA: Tragic Overturned Wheat Truck Causes Major Traffic Jam On Otedole Bridge

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) issued a statement on X, previously known as Twitter, describing a tragic incident, Readership NG reports.

On Tuesday morning, a truck loaded with wheat overturned, causing severe congestion for road userstravellingg along the 7Up-Berger section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. This accident occurred on Otedole Bridge during a heavy downpour.

In their tweet at 8:40 am, LASTMA reported, “A fatal accident involving an overturned truck loaded with wheat has blocked a lane on Otedola Bridge en route to Ojodu Berger. Traffic is moving slowly, exacerbated by a flooded section on the bridge.”

Subsequently, the authority provided an update at 11 am, stating, “There is good traffic flow from Otedola to Berger Bus stop down to Kara-Opic, and the return journey from Opic to Otedola is also looking smooth.”
