IWD 2025: Sagamu LG Chairman, Odulate Hails Women As Heartbeat Of Progress

In commemoration of International Women’s Day, the Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, has praised the remarkable contributions of women to society, describing them as the “heartbeat of progress” and vital to economic and social development.

In a statement released today, Odulate emphasized the importance of empowering women and fostering an inclusive society where every woman and girl can thrive without limitations. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating opportunities that uplift and support women across Sagamu.

“Women are not just part of society; they are the heartbeat of progress, the pillars of our homes, and the driving force behind economic and social development. As we mark International Women’s Day, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and invaluable contributions of women in Sagamu, Ogun State, and the world at large,” Odulate said.

He further pledged to continue advocating for gender equality and providing initiatives that empower women to break barriers and reach their full potential.

“To every woman breaking barriers, defying odds, and making an impact, we celebrate you!” he added.

The statement reflects the Sagamu Local Government’s ongoing dedication to gender inclusivity and support for women’s empowerment.

International Women’s Day is observed globally on March 8th each year to recognize the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and to advocate for gender equality.
