Interswitch Crowns Winners Of 7th National Science Competition, Awards N30m In Scholarships
Interswitch, one of Africa’s leading integrated payments and digital commerce companies, has announced the winners of the seventh edition of its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, the InterswitchSPAK National Science Competition.
Widely recognised as Nigeria’s largest STEM competition for senior secondary school students, the programme concluded on a high note after months of nationwide assessments and competitive stages involving over 18,000 registered participants.
Sixteen-year-old Saint Riman of Adedokun International Schools, Ota, Ogun State, emerged as the overall winner and was crowned Nigeria’s Best STEM Student. He received a ₦15 million scholarship. David Okorie of Caleb International College, Magodo, Lagos State, finished as First Runner-Up, earning a ₦10 million scholarship, while David Solomonezemma of Deeper Life High School, Enugu State, clinched the Second Runner-Up position with a ₦5 million scholarship.
All three winners also received brand-new laptops and additional prizes.
Presenting the awards, the Executive Vice President, Group Marketing and Communications at Interswitch, Cherry Eromosele, praised the students for their discipline, resilience, and outstanding intellectual performance.
She said InterswitchSPAK was established to inspire excellence in STEM education and equip young Africans with skills needed to solve real-world problems.
“These winners have demonstrated remarkable promise, and by supporting their education, we are reaffirming our belief in the power of young people to shape Africa’s future through innovation and science,” Eromosele said.
Beyond the top three winners, other finalists were also rewarded with brand-new laptops and cash prizes for exceptional performance. Their teachers were equally recognised and rewarded for their vital role in nurturing academic excellence.
