Integrity In Question: Baba Eto’s Political Style Under Scrutiny

2 min read

Dear Cardinal James Odunmbaku ‘Baba Eto’,

“You, who must come with equity, must come with clean hands.”

You assumed a significant role following the separation of Alhaji Ajisebutu and Baba M. A Taiwo of Ilasamaja. Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola served as the CGS with twenty coordinators representing the local government areas of the state under him. Before Odunmbaku suggested to the coordinators that the group should appoint someone as chairman because the CGS was always busy, the coordinators recommended James Odunmbaku “ETO” to the CGS, and he became the Batco Group chairman.

Despite numerous qualified and educated members within the group, Aregbesola chose Odunmbaku to head BATCO. Later, the group’s name was changed to *The Mandate Movement*. Initially assigned the role of Highway Managers, the group was empowered for development. However, during the formal documentation process, Aregbesola added additional names as board directors to oversee the project.

In a surprising turn, Odunmbaku, driven by selfish motives, ousted most directors, leaving only one. Unfortunately, Aregbesola and other members overlooked Eto’s hypocritical actions. Aregbesola also facilitated ETO’s GAC membership.

It’s worth noting that Eto was removed as the Chairman of Mandate Movement when he unilaterally attempted to change the group’s name. He printed documents related to this, seen as evidence against him, and Alhaji Ganiyu Badmus was appointed chairman. Badmus served in that capacity for several years before passing the leadership baton to Abdullahi Ayinde Enilolobo with the consensus of all stakeholders.

Cardinal James Odunmbaku should understand that neither Abdullahi Ayinde Enilolobo nor members of The Mandate Movement and himself were present when Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola and our revered leader, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, started their political relationship. As loyal followers or members, our role is to seek amicable solutions, not the *ETO* style, when disagreements arise between leaders.

While not against him personally, we question his political style. The Mandate Movement was firmly established nationwide during the campaign period when mobilization was crucial. If he wishes to contribute, he is welcome, but making propaganda statements about *stamping presence* is unnecessary, as Mandate Movement already existed throughout the federation.

It’s crucial for Cardinal James Odunmbaku to recognize that those seeking equity must exhibit integrity. Consider relinquishing all successes and achievements obtained with Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola’s assistance, including several acres of land in Ibeju Lekki, originally belonging to The Mandate Movement, Highway Managers, and the GAC slot currently enjoyed.

To those aligning with Odunmbaku’s hypocritical agenda, be wary, as associating with it may lead to a shameful outcome. Safeguard and protect your reputation. This disclosure is necessary for the sake of truth.
