Inside Speaker Obasa’s Plot To Distract Lagosians With Fresh Propaganda

In the murky waters of Lagos politics, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has once again demonstrated that when accountability and transparency fail, the next resort is character assassination. The Speaker has reportedly instructed his media team to launch a series of baseless attacks against The Mandate Movement Chairman, Abdullahi Ayinde Enilolobo.

According to reliable sources, the Speaker’s media handlers have been tasked with spreading claims that Enilolobo is aligning with former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, to form a new political party. This tactic, seemingly designed to deflect attention, raises serious questions about the Speaker’s priorities and the credibility of his administration.

This calculated move by Obasa appears to be a desperate attempt to divert Lagosians’ focus from a string of serious allegations tied to his leadership. These include accusations of contract embezzlement and the troubling practice of Assembly Committee Chairmen allegedly collecting kickbacks from contractors and local government chairmen at his directive. Lagosians are now questioning whether Obasa’s failures stem from external influences or are entirely the result of his governance style.

Among the propaganda narratives Obasa’s media team is allegedly tasked with pushing are unfounded claims that Enilolobo is acquiring properties across Lagos and residing in Aregbesola’s Ikeja home.

These fabrications aim to paint Enilolobo in a negative light while sidestepping the deeper issues of governance. This approach is not only dishonest but also demeans the intelligence of Lagosians, who are increasingly demanding accountability and transparency from their leaders.

Rather than addressing these pressing allegations, the Speaker seems more intent on silencing critics and protecting his image. This choice reflects poorly on his administration’s priorities, as Lagosians deserve leaders who focus on public welfare and progressive policies. The diversionary tactics employed by Obasa highlight an unwillingness to engage with legitimate concerns about his governance.

The political climate in Lagos is undergoing significant transformation, with citizens becoming more vocal in their rejection of leaders who prioritize self-interest over public service. Obasa must come to terms with the fact that propaganda efforts will not shield his administration from scrutiny. The public is increasingly aware of these tactics and remains resolute in holding leaders accountable.

As Lagosians continue to hail the All Progressives Congress for delivering good governance, they will undoubtedly remember those who betray their trust. The Speaker’s actions will remain under the watchful eye of the people, and history will deliver its judgment on those who fail to rise to the occasion.
