CP Lawal Adebowale Assumes Duty As Ondo’s 46th Police Commissioner

The Ondo State Police Command has announced the assumption of office by Commissioner of Police Lawal Adebowale, psc(+), mnips, as the 46th Commissioner of Police for the state.
He succeeds CP Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi, psc(+), mnips, who has been redeployed to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
CP Adebowale brings over three decades of experience to the post, with a distinguished career in law enforcement spanning various operational and strategic roles across multiple states in Nigeria. His academic credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in French from the University of Ilorin and an MBA from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH).

He also served with INTERPOL between 2006 and 2009, coordinating regional operations on vehicle theft, document fraud, biometric records, and stolen art across West and Central Africa.
Until his new posting, he was the Commissioner of Police in charge of Force Quartermaster at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The Ondo State Police Command, in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka Olushola, expressed appreciation to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, for entrusting CP Adebowale with the leadership of the state command.
The command also commended outgoing CP Afolabi for his service and professionalism.
CP Adebowale has pledged his full commitment to maintaining law and order, strengthening community trust, and fostering synergy with sister agencies and local stakeholders.
