Akinlolu Agunbiade Commends Governor Abiodun On 70-Kilometer Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway Reconstruction
2 min readA prominent aspirant for the position of Chairman in Remo North Local Government, Aremo Akinlolu Agunbiade, has lauded Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, for flagging off the reconstruction of the 70-kilometer Abeokuta-Ifo-Ota-Lagos Expressway.
The flag-off ceremony, which took place on Friday at Itori in Ewekoro Local Government Area, marks the beginning of a critical infrastructure project that is expected to be completed within 18 months.
Aremo Agunbiade expressed his appreciation for Governor Abiodun’s commitment to improving road infrastructure in Ogun State, noting that the reconstruction of the Abeokuta-Ifo-Ota-Lagos Expressway is not only vital for the economic development of Ogun State but also for the neighboring Lagos State and the entire nation.
“The governor’s decision to commence the reconstruction of this key expressway is a testament to his dedication to the welfare of Ogun State residents and his foresight in enhancing our state’s infrastructure. This project will undoubtedly bring immense relief to the people who have endured years of hardship travelling on this road,” Aremo Agunbiade said.
Aremo Agunbiade emphasized the economic benefits of the project, stating that it would create jobs for both skilled and unskilled workers in the state and improve security along the road’s corridor. He urged the people of Ogun State to support the project by cooperating with the contractors and maintaining the road once completed.
In his remarks during the flag-off, Governor Abiodun outlined the importance of the road, describing it as the second busiest in Nigeria after the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. He reassured the public that the reconstruction would proceed without delay, with five construction teams working simultaneously across different zones to ensure timely completion.
Aremo Agunbiade concluded his statement by calling on the private sector to partner with the state government in its ongoing efforts to develop Ogun State’s infrastructure, stressing that such collaborations are essential for sustainable socio-economic growth.
