Tinubu Hosts Governors For Ramadan Iftar At Aso Rock

President Bola Tinubu on Monday evening hosted state governors at a Ramadan Iftar dinner at the State House, Abuja.

The event, held at the Presidential Villa, marked the third consecutive year the President has organised a joint fast breaking session with governors, deputy governors and senior government officials during the holy month of Ramadan.

Among those in attendance were Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Monday Okpebholo of Edo State, Usman Ododo of Kogi State, Babagana Zulum of Borno State, Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, Mohammed Bago of Niger State, Umar Namadi of Jigawa State, Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State and Agbu Kefas of Taraba State. The Deputy Governor of Bauchi State was also present.

Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila and several cabinet ministers attended the dinner.

The Iftar forms part of the President’s annual Ramadan engagements with political leaders and senior officials. At previous gatherings, Tinubu has used the occasion to emphasise unity, inclusive governance and improved service delivery.

During the 2025 edition, he urged governors and ministers to prioritise the welfare of citizens and intensify efforts toward national development, stressing that Nigeria should be regarded as one large family irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.

The President is expected to host additional Iftar meetings with senior government officials, traditional rulers and members of the diplomatic community before the end of Ramadan.
