2024 Updates On Canadian Student Visa: Essential Information For International Students

These changes, affecting study permits and Post-Graduation Work Permits (PGWP), aim to manage the influx of students and enhance the overall experience for those studying in the country.

1. Temporary Cap on International Student Intake: The Canadian government has imposed a temporary federal cap on the number of study permits issued in 2024. The intake is expected to decrease by 35 per cent compared to 2023, with approximately 360,000 new study permits being issued. The cap for 2025 will be determined later in the year.
