Odulate Urges Preservation Of Yoruba Culture As Sagamu Marks Ìṣẹ̀ṣe Day 2026
The Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, has called on the people of Yoruba land to take pride in their cultural heritage and remain committed to preserving indigenous traditions and knowledge for future generations.
Odulate made the call in a goodwill message to mark the 2026 Ìṣẹ̀ṣe Day celebration, describing Ìṣẹ̀ṣe as more than a cultural celebration but a reflection of the history, identity and heritage of the Yoruba people.
The council chairman urged Yoruba people and Ìṣẹ̀ṣe devotees to remain intentional about preserving their traditions, values and indigenous knowledge, stressing the importance of passing them on to generations yet unborn.
He also prayed for continued peace, unity and prosperity across the land, while calling for the wisdom and values of the ancestors to continue to inspire efforts towards building a better society.
“Ìṣẹ̀ṣe is more than a celebration; it is a reflection of our history, identity and heritage,” Odulate said.
He extended his greetings to the people of Sagamu, the Yoruba people and Ìṣẹ̀ṣe devotees on the occasion, wishing them a peaceful and meaningful celebration.
The council chairman reaffirmed the importance of culture to collective identity, declaring: “Àṣà wa ni ìdánimọ̀ wa. Ìṣẹ̀ṣe a bù kún wa.”
