“My Meeting With Tinubu Clarified Lies” — Enilolobo Refutes Anti-Party Allegations

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Abdullahi Ayinde Enilolobo, has dismissed rumours suggesting that he plans to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to join his mentor and former Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

Enilolobo described the allegations as “baseless, malicious, and politically motivated,” accusing his detractors of attempting to tarnish his image and undermine his political standing.

Speaking during Oro Re, a live programme on Adamimogo 93.1 FM in Lekki, Lagos, the APC leader challenged those accusing him of anti-party activities to provide concrete evidence.

“None of my detractors has contributed to the success of the APC as much as I have,” Enilolobo said. “I’ve served this party faithfully for decades, and I remain committed to its ideals.”

As one of the leaders of the APC in Alimosho Local Government Area, Enilolobo said he has chosen not to engage in verbal battles with those trying to discredit him, many of whom, he noted, had benefitted from Aregbesola’s political goodwill.

He emphasized that he has “never left the progressive fold” since joining active politics nearly four decades ago.

On the perceived rift between President Bola Tinubu and Aregbesola, Enilolobo likened their relationship to that of parents, saying:

“No well-trained child will pass judgment in a dispute between his parents. Both Tinubu and Aregbesola are political fathers to me. It’s unfortunate that they’re not on the same page at the moment.”

The APC stalwart revealed that since December, he has been falsely linked with various political parties, including the Labour Party (LP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), and African Democratic Congress (ADC), in what he described as deliberate attempts to distort his image ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking about his recent meeting with President Tinubu in Lagos, Enilolobo said the encounter allowed him to clarify several misconceptions and present details of his continuous support for the President.

He added that APC leaders in Lagos State have already waded into the Alimosho leadership crisis, stressing that he would avoid further public comments to ensure the reconciliation process succeeds.

Enilolobo urged Nigerians to exercise patience and reflect on the country’s condition before President Tinubu took office, insisting that the current economic reforms, though tough, will yield lasting benefits.

“President Tinubu is a listening, compassionate, and accessible leader who truly understands the people’s pains,” he said. “The temporary challenges we face today will pave the way for a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.”
