Aremo Akinlolu Agunbiade has charged young people to embrace discipline, uphold Christian values and dedicate themselves to selfless service to God and humanity following his decoration as Grand Patron of the Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade at St. John’s Anglican Church, Ogijo, Ogun State.

Agunbiade gave the charge on Sunday, October 11, 2026, during the Brigade’s Enrolment Service and Investiture of Chaplain, where he urged the newly enrolled members to see their roles as a call to responsibility, service and exemplary leadership.

The ceremony attracted church leaders, parents, elders, brigade members and other dignitaries who gathered to witness the enrolment of new members, the investiture of the Chaplain and Agunbiade’s decoration as Grand Patron.

Congratulating the newly enrolled members and the invested Chaplain, Agunbiade urged them to discharge their responsibilities with passion, dedication, humility and a strong sense of duty.

He stressed that genuine service was not defined by the uniform worn or the position occupied but by character, commitment and the willingness to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

The Grand Patron further charged the young brigade members to remain disciplined, respect constituted authority and uphold Christian values, urging them to serve as worthy ambassadors of Christ both within the Church and in society.

He emphasised the importance of nurturing a generation of young people whose lives reflect integrity, obedience, compassion and a sincere commitment to the service of God and humanity.

Agunbiade also called on parents, church leaders and elders to play active roles in shaping the character and future of young people by providing guidance, encouragement, mentorship and opportunities for them to develop their God-given abilities.

According to him, raising responsible and godly young leaders requires collective responsibility, good examples and a supportive environment that promotes spiritual growth and moral development.

He reaffirmed his commitment, as Grand Patron of the Brigade, to supporting initiatives that promote spiritual development, leadership, discipline and selfless service among young people.

Agunbiade’s investiture as Grand Patron is expected to further strengthen efforts to nurture a generation of disciplined, morally upright and service-driven young people. The occasion also highlighted the importance of collaboration among the Church, parents and community leaders in shaping the character, faith and leadership capacity of the younger generation, with a shared commitment to raising future leaders who will make meaningful contributions to the Church and society at large.
