Aremo Akinlolu Agunbiade has reviewed the grassroots mobilisation activities of Polling Unit Managers in Ward 7, Unit 9, urging them to intensify their engagement with eligible voters ahead of forthcoming electoral activities.

Agunbiade made the call on Monday, September 28, 2026, during an engagement with the Polling Unit Managers, two weeks after their inauguration.

The meeting provided an opportunity to assess the activities of the newly inaugurated managers, review their experiences and discuss challenges encountered during their engagements with voters across their respective areas.

Commending the managers for their dedication and commitment, Agunbiade acknowledged the efforts they had made since their inauguration and urged them to sustain the momentum.

He stressed the importance of consistent engagement, effective communication and maintaining strong relationships with voters at the polling unit level.

According to him, the managers must remain committed to the responsibilities entrusted to them and continue working towards achieving the party’s objectives at the grassroots.

“I commend you for the work you have done so far. You must sustain the momentum, remain committed to your responsibilities and continue engaging the people within your respective areas.”

The meeting also featured an interactive session during which the Polling Unit Managers shared challenges encountered in the course of their assignments.

The managers highlighted some of the practical difficulties confronting them while reaching out to eligible voters and identified areas where additional attention and support were required.

Responding to the concerns, Agunbiade assured the managers that the issues raised would receive his attention, promising to look into the challenges and explore possible solutions to enable them to carry out their responsibilities more effectively.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the contribution of Mrs. Biliki Sonola, a former member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who recently joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) and currently serves as one of the Polling Unit Managers.

Sonola explained that her decision to leave the PDP was based on her personal view that the party was not trustworthy.

She reaffirmed her commitment to the APC and pledged to dedicate herself to the responsibilities entrusted to her as a Polling Unit Manager.

“I decided to leave the PDP because, in my view, the party was not trustworthy. I am committed to my new political affiliation and ready to contribute my quota to the responsibilities assigned to me.”

The meeting ended with renewed encouragement for the managers to remain focused, coordinated and committed to their assignments.

Agunbiade also reiterated his appreciation for their efforts and urged them to maintain regular communication, provide feedback and continue building relationships within their polling unit.

The engagement forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen grassroots organisation and coordinate the activities of the newly inaugurated Polling Unit Managers ahead of forthcoming electoral activities.
