Olasunkanmi Adetoye Ijaduoye, a former President of the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) and former Special Adviser to the immediate past Chairman of Remo North Local Government, has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ijaduoye announced his resignation in a statement issued to journalists, political stakeholders, party members, supporters and the general public.

He said he would address a press conference next week to explain the circumstances surrounding his resignation, clarify issues relating to his decision and announce his next political move.

“I have officially resigned my membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC),” Ijaduoye said.

He said the forthcoming press briefing would provide an opportunity to “openly and responsibly highlight the major reasons behind my resignation, clarify certain issues, and provide the public with a clear understanding of my position.”

According to him, he would also use the occasion to formally announce the political direction he intends to take following his exit from the APC.

“I will also use the opportunity to announce and declare my next political move, including the direction I intend to take going forward,” he said.

Ijaduoye urged journalists, political associates, supporters and members of the public to look forward to the briefing, saying details of the date, venue and time would be communicated shortly.

Ijaduoye’s resignation adds to a series of recent departures from the APC in Remo North, including that of the former Chairman of Remo North Local Government, John Obafemi, who recently announced his resignation from the party.
