Sagamu LG Chairman Odulate Celebrates Eid, Children’s Day, Calls For Peace, Prayers Amid Security Concerns

As Muslim faithful across the country celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, the Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, has called for deep reflection on the values of sacrifice, obedience, peace, and compassion exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).

In a statement issued on the occasion of the festival, which also coincides with this year’s Children’s Day, Odulate extended warm greetings to all Muslims and residents of the local government.

He urged citizens to use the period to pray fervently for the nation, particularly in light of recent security challenges and unfortunate incidents affecting innocent citizens.

“May Almighty Allah comfort every affected family, protect our communities, and heal our nation,” the chairman said.

Drawing attention to the coincidence of both celebrations, Odulate noted that every child deserves to grow in a peaceful, secure, and hopeful society. He called on parents and community leaders to continue promoting love, unity, moral values, and collective responsibility to build a better future for the coming generation.

While encouraging residents to celebrate with family, friends, and loved ones, the council boss advised everyone to remain security conscious, stay safe, and celebrate responsibly.

He further appealed to citizens to show love to one another, extend support to the less privileged, and uphold the virtues of unity and compassion that both Eid and Children’s Day represent.

“May Allah accept our prayers and sacrifices, grant us peace, progress, and many more celebrations in good health and happiness. Barka De Sallah and Happy Children’s Day!” Odulate added.
