Senior Officers Hail IGP Disu Over Tech Gadgets, Digital Policing Reforms In Nigeria
Senior police officers at the Force Headquarters and various formations across the country have expressed deep appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, for what they described as a remarkable and unprecedented effort to modernise the Nigeria Police Force through digital transformation and improved operational support.
The officers commended the IGP for the recent distribution of laptops, printers, and other technological gadgets aimed at improving official duties, administrative efficiency, intelligence gathering, documentation, and investigative processes within the Force.
According to several senior officers, this marks the first time an Inspector-General of Police has made such a deliberate and practical investment in digital tools to strengthen policing operations and workplace efficiency across formations.
They noted that the initiative has not only boosted morale among officers but has also created a renewed sense of purpose and professionalism within the Force.
“This is more than just the distribution of equipment,” one senior officer stated. “It is a clear message that the Nigeria Police Force must evolve with modern realities. The IGP is preparing officers for smarter policing and a more efficient system.”

The officers further praised the IGP for openly encouraging personnel, both senior and junior officers, too embrace technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) as essential tools for modern policing, data management, investigations, and administrative work.
Many described the move as visionary, noting that the encouragement to adopt digital innovation reflects a leadership style focused on progress, capacity building, and institutional excellence.
According to them, the integration of technology into police operations will help improve service delivery, speed up investigations, enhance documentation processes, and strengthen accountability within the Force.
They also pledged to make responsible and productive use of the equipment provided, stressing that the gadgets would significantly aid their daily responsibilities and contribute to the effective administration of justice and maintenance of public safety.
“We are grateful for this support and encouragement,” another officer said. “These tools will help us work smarter, respond faster, and improve our efficiency. We are determined to use them responsibly in service to the nation.”

The officers further described the IGP as compassionate, innovative, and deeply committed to the welfare and professional growth of police personnel.
Many of them expressed the belief that his leadership style is gradually redefining policing standards within the country, adding that his reforms have inspired confidence, motivation, and renewed dedication among officers.
They unanimously noted that the IGP’s people-oriented leadership, commitment to modernization, and focus on professionalism have distinguished him as one of the most impactful Inspectors-General of Police in recent history.
As the Force continues to embrace technology-driven policing, officers say the ongoing reforms under IGP Disu’s leadership represent a major step toward building a smarter, more responsive, and globally competitive police institution for Nigeria.
