95 Princes, Princesses Seek Awujale Of Ijebuland Stool
No fewer than 95 princes and princesses from the Fusengbuwa Ruling House have formally indicated interest in ascending the revered Awujale of Ijebuland stool.
The disclosure was made by the Olori Ebi of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House, Mr. Lateef Owoyemi, at the commencement of a nomination meeting held at Bisi Rodipe Hall, GRA, Ijebu Ode.
Owoyemi, who is also known as Otunba Jadiara, stated that the selection process had reached an advanced stage, explaining that candidates who successfully scaled the first phase of screening would have their names forwarded to the Afobajes for further consideration.
He noted that the Afobajes would be responsible for selecting a single candidate from the list, whose name would subsequently be transmitted to the Ogun State Government for final approval in line with established traditional and legal procedures.
Also present at the meeting were other prominent leaders of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House, including the Deputy Olori Ebi, Otunba Ajidagba, and the Chairman, Chief Fassy Yusuf, among others.
Owoyemi further clarified that the process remains transparent and inclusive, stressing that any aggrieved aspirant retains the right to seek redress through the appropriate government channels should they be dissatisfied with the outcome of the nomination exercise.
The Awujale of Ijebuland stool is one of the most prestigious traditional thrones in Yorubaland, attracting keen interest whenever the process of succession is activated.
