Odulate Condemns ‘Unpatriotic’ Narratives Over Anthony Joshua Accident, Affirms Ogun Ambulance Capacity

The Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, has condemned what he described as evil, insensitive and unpatriotic attempts to spread unfounded narratives over the recent road accident involving world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua and his friends.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Odulate faulted claims suggesting that Ogun State lacked ambulance services, describing such assertions as false and misleading. He said the allegations were clearly contradicted by the ambulances procured and deployed across the 20 local government areas of the state by the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun.
According to the council chairman, the presence of a Lagos State ambulance during the rescue operation was due to proximity and long-standing inter-state collaboration, particularly along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway and other border communities where Lagos and Ogun states operate in synergy during emergencies.
He stressed that the joint response reflected effective cooperation between the two states rather than any absence of emergency facilities in Ogun.
Odulate expressed deep sympathy for the victims of the tragic accident, describing it as heart-wrenching, while commending residents and passers-by who assisted in the rescue efforts before the arrival of government emergency agencies.
He noted that the swift and selfless actions of the citizens demonstrated patriotism, compassion and empathy, irrespective of differences in race, tribe, gender or religion.
The Sagamu LG chairman urged the public to refrain from spreading misinformation, especially during moments of grief, and called for unity and responsible engagement in the interest of peace and national cohesion.
