Access Bank Celebrates Launch Of ‘Wisdom And Integrity: Legacy Of Justice Amina Augie JSC CON’
Access Bank PLC marked a historic moment on Tuesday, November 28, as it hosted the public presentation and launch of the two-volume book, ‘Wisdom and Integrity: The Legacy of Honourable Justice Amina Adamu Augie JSC CON Through Her Judgements.’ The event, attended by a distinguished gathering, unfolded at the Eko Hotels and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The publication serves as a tribute to the remarkable career of Honourable Justice Amina Augie CFR, JSC(Rtd), who has played a pivotal role in shaping jurisprudence and the evolution of law in Nigeria. Known for her unwavering commitment to justice and the rule of law, Justice Augie has garnered deep respect and admiration from peers and colleagues.
The two-volume book, meticulously compiled to commemorate Justice Augie’s retirement upon reaching the constitutional age of 70, features a collection of her landmark judgments spanning several decades. These judgments have significantly contributed to the development of judicial precedents across various legal domains.

In her remarks, Justice Augie expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and urged legal practitioners to remain incorruptible in the face of challenges. Professor Fabian Ajogwu OFR, SAN, the book reviewer, provided insightful commentary on the profound impact of Justice Augie’s judgments.
Chaired by His Majesty, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Ugochukwu Achebe, CFR, MNI, Obi of Onitsha, the launch event drew distinguished guests from the legal and academic communities, as well as representatives from public and private agencies.
Notable attendees included the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu; Chairman, Access Bank PLC, Paul Usoro SAN; Chairman, Heirs Holdings, Tony Elumelu; and the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi SAN.
Justice Amina Augie’s journey in the legal profession, beginning in 1978, has been marked by determination, perseverance, and integrity. From a Legal Aid Counsel to a Justice of the Supreme Court in 2016, her contributions extend beyond the bench. A passionate teacher, mentor, and advocate for human rights, Justice Augie has chaired tribunals, served on boards globally, and received prestigious awards.
